It's work perfectly. for php-fpm it's high load cpu sometime and make server crash. But you can monitor your site and tuning the fpm configuration to fix that problem.

Re: NGINX + PHP-FPM + APC = Awesome

Have you try proxy cache? It's not touch a database when serving from cache.

I want to know which are better. between proxy cache and php-fpm.

Re: NGINX + PHP-FPM + APC = Awesome

You can also use php-fpm from Apache. I read somewhere that mod_php is not recommended for deployment due to the excessive weight in CPU/RAM it may give to very busy sites. I currently have an Apache using php-fpm, with the following settings.

# FastCGI/PHP_FPM support
Alias /php5.fastcgi /var/www/mybb/php5.fastcgi
AddHandler php-script .php
FastCGIExternalServer /var/www/mybb/php5.fastcgi -socket /var/run/php-fpm.sock
Action php-script /php5.fastcgi virtual

Instead of using TCP socket, I'm using a UNIX socket since put less stress on the network.

Re: NGINX + PHP-FPM + APC = Awesome

Your nginx config is horrible, never use "if" but try_files

@Ben , the best is to think hard .. there is no magic solution, nginx is good, apache is good also. I can also make a statement like, Before 5.3.6 no guy would like to run php-fpm because the distros do not support it and from a security perspective it is just pesky to maintain packages on your own. Also, spawn scripts from lighty were a standard way to run PHP fastcgi with nginx and I never had issues with them. There are advantages and disadvantages of every approach and people should refrain from making motherhood statements and instead just give data.

Re: NGINX + PHP-FPM + APC = Awesome

I'll
back again for sure, thanks for great article :D

Re: NGINX + PHP-FPM + APC = Awesome

that is wrong. You use ~\.php and i swear i am taking over the server right now. If anyone has used a good *cgi framework they all have an entry point or "wrapper" in most cases it should be index.php for frameworks like cakephp etc. if you use PHP you allow code execution on anything that resmebles .php in the url.

so please dont suggest things without complete information.

Re: NGINX + PHP-FPM + APC = Awesome

All those people whose lives have been positively affected and touched by nginx can please stop commenting and send a donation to my paypal account. part of it will be sent to nginx dev community.

Re: NGINX + PHP-FPM + APC = Awesome

I didn't use this method, I used a combination of 'official' pages from Ubuntu and Nginx documentation.
